- An election is to be held for one seat for the Witney Town Council (Witney Central Ward).
2. Nomination papers must be delivered to the Returning Officer, at the Electoral Services Office, West Oxfordshire District Council, Council Offices, Woodgreen, Witney, Oxon, OX28 1NB between 9am and 5pm on any working day from the date of publication of this notice (excluding bank holidays) but no later than 4pm on Friday 18 October 2024.
3. Nomination Papers may be obtained from the office of the Returning Officer, Council Offices, Woodgreen, Witney, Oxon, OX28 1NB, during the times stated above. They may alternatively be obtained from the Clerk of the Town Council.
4. If the election is contested the poll will take place on Thursday 14 November 2024.
5. Applications to register to vote must be received by the Electoral Registration Officer by no later than 12 midnight on Tuesday 29 October 2024 if they are to be effective for Thursday 14 November 2024. Applications can be made online: www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.
6. Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Council Offices, Woodgreen, Witney, Oxon, OX28 1NB by 5pm on Wednesday 30 October 2024. Applications can be made online at www.gov.uk/apply-postal-vote.
7. Applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Wednesday 6 November 2024. Applications can be made online at www.gov.uk/apply-proxy-vote.
8. Applications for a Voter Authority Certificate or an Anonymous Elector’s Document valid for this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Wednesday 6 November 2024. Applications can be made online at www.gov.uk/apply-for-photo-id-voter-authority-certificate
9. Applications to vote by emergency proxy at this election on the grounds of physical incapacity, or for work/service reasons must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Thursday 14 November 2024. The physical incapacity must have occurred after 5pm on Wednesday 6 November 2024. To apply on the grounds of work/service, the person must have become aware that they cannot go to the polling station in person after 5pm on Wednesday 6 November 2024.
