Witney Town Council is delighted to announce that construction work for the much-anticipated upgrade of the Leys Splash Park will commence on Monday March 17, 2025. The area will be undergoing a significant refit with new water spray jets and above ground water-play structures and a colourful new rainbow trail themed floor. Behind the scenes a new plant room and an updated service and maintenance package will ensure the new water play is reliable and available throughout its planned summer opening times.
During the next eight weeks, the footpath from the Splash Park entrance gate to Station Lane will be closed intermittently to facilitate the delivery and removal of materials and machinery. While the Splash Park area will be fenced off for safety, the rest of the park will remain open for public use. We ask all visitors to exercise caution around the construction fencing and not to trespass on to the site itself. There could be some occasions when some of the work being carried out may cause a little noise disruption. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we work towards improving one of our most popular community facilities.
Cllr, Dr Ruth Smith said,
“Councillors are really pleased that the money the council has saved each year since the splash park was installed covers the upgrade costs on time and in time for the summer. Let’s hope for a beautiful summer that families can enjoy together at the Leys.”
